Sarah Savalanpour is an Iranian Interdisciplinary artist, Film and media researcher and Curator.
Her practice moves between archival research and filmmaking, tracing the migratory life of still and moving images, their fragmentation, and how acts of mediation and restoration make visible or obscure what has been silenced, forgotten, or lost. She holds a BFA in Time-based Media and an MA in Art Mediation from HFBK Hamburg, with an emphasis on film mediation strategies. She is part of the curatorial team at dokumentarfilmwoche Hamburg, has worked as co-curator at Majlis, a platform for cross-cultural mediation at MK&G Hamburg, and is co-founder of para-education e.V., a collective for critical art education in public and institutional spaces.
