The project Letter to _____ was a collaboration with Belarusian artists and activist Nadya Sayapina.

The project was inspired by Nadya’s previous project letter-to-mom during her forced migration to Ukraine in January 2021. The artist conducted thirty interviews with Belarusian immigrants over the course of several months.

During the collaboration, we had the opportunity to work with these interviews, which addressed forced immigration and the emotional side of displacement, as well as the fear and uncertainty that comes with it, and the never-ending search for familiar things.
